Labor Day at Lake Palestine

Building sticks at Texas State Railroad

Paddle boat fun

Jackson's first catfish!

22 catfish, 1 bass and 1 sunfish!

We had a blast at our rental lake house this Labor Day. After a 5 hour ride (1 hour wait, 3 hour back and forth, 1 hour lunch break) on Texas State Railroad, we eagerly arrived our Lake Palestine house.

It had everything we needed for a lake vacation -- SUP, Paddle boat, Kayak, floating island, private deck and a small sand beach in front of the house. On top of everything, this place was so easy to get fish. We got total of 24 fish in two days. Jackson's pole had some magic power. It's fish on each time we cast. Thanks for an awesome birthday gift, grandma and grandpa!

This lake is very shallow, at least from our house. It made swimming easy for both kids. They could touch the bottom even far away from the shore. We didn't leave the house except for a short grocery trip for the entire stay. Both kids were super sad to leave. We are hooked for lake life!
