Self-control

Today I walked with Jackson in the rain to school. His rain boots are a little bigger than his feet. That made us move at a slower speed. It was 7:48 when we approached the school entrance. (after 7:50 is tardy) I saw a few kids running and suggested we follow their lead.

While running, his over-sized boots fell off his feet. He was tripped to the ground right in front of the school. I noticed his body tensed up. I was expecting a meltdown.

He jumped up, quickly put on his boots. "Bad idea~~, Mommy" He shook his head and moved swiftly. Right after he went inside, the kindergarten entrance was locked. I walked home with a smile.
