Jackson had a soccer game this afternoon, and in the waning moments of the game Jackson scored his first goal of the season (and second game-time goal ever). It was a nice one! He dribbled up the left side of the field after taking the ball around midfield, outran the last defender and kicked it in from about 5 yards out. Even before the goal, I would say it was Jackson's best game. He's learning to better position himself on defense, and stayed engaged almost the whole game. Starting with yesterday's game, he's even asking coach to put him back in when he's on the sideline (something that never happened before).
On the way home from the game, this is a snippet of the conversation we had.
Jackson: "goo-goo, gah-gah"
Jackson: "goo-goo, gah-gah"
Jackson: "Why aren't you laughing?"
Will: "That's not funny. You're just being silly"
Jackson: "But funny and silly are the same thing."
Will: "No, they're different."
Jackson: "How?"
Will: "Uhhh..."
Jackson: "I've got it. Funny is when everyone laughs. Silly is when only the kids laugh!"
Will: "Now that's funny!"
