Jackson signed up for 4 sessions of swimming camp this summer. He enjoyed swimming with floats last summer but didn't learn to swim without.
We thought he would love daily swim at WRN. But during the first session, he complained that Coach made him jump in the water and got his eyes wet with water. When the second session started in mid June, he talked about not going to school because of the fear of water in his eyes. I got concerned that it would not be a good summer for him if this resistance continued.
We kept on encouraging him. Tuesday at the last week of June, he came back so proud that he put his face under water! Thursday he had a swim show and he impressed Will of his swimming abilities. It seemed he learned the basic of swimming within that week.
He put his swimming skill into good use in Tahoe trip. Last weekend, he tried diving and loved it. We are so happy that he learned a new skill through overcoming his fears.
