Jackson and I were checking out the chickens in the morning today. It's cold outside so I was walking backwards trying to convince Jackson to go inside with me.
Jackson (All serious): Mommy, don't walk backwards!
I stopped.
Jackson (points to my back): There are rocks there.
He was referring to the drainage stone wall in the corner.
I almost teared up with joy: My son is watching my back now!
I continued: Thanks, Jackson! Do you want to go inside with mommy?
Jackson: No, mommy. Stay with me!
Mommy: But I am very cold...
Jackson: Mommy, you go inside. I will stay here with the chickens.
