In mid-August we escaped the Dallas summer to meet the Randolphs in scenic (and cool) Lake Tahoe, CA. We filled the long weekend with camping, hiking, boating, beach activities and a little early morning photography.

Trip Itinerary
- Friday: Left Dallas late Friday evening, arrived really late in Tahoe
- Saturday: Made camp at D.L Bliss State Park
- Sunday: Boated and beached, hike to the Tea House on the island of Emerald Bay
- Monday: Hiked about 6 miles from D.L. Bliss to Vikingsholm on the Rubicon Trail
- Tuesday: Early AM photo shoot at Emerald Bay, midday flight back to Dallas
Thoughts
- Thanks to the Randolph family for taking great care of us.
- Bring a swimsuit! Lake Tahoe is magical in the summer.
- Leaving Dallas at 8:45pm is very late; would be better to get an earlier flight.
- One more day would have helped the enjoyment-to-travel-hassle ratio
