EarWell

In our photos, you may have noticed Jackson's strange haircut or some strange looking contraptions around his ears.  Have no fear -- we are not sending him for tryouts in the Newborn Water Polo Association.

Instead, we are trying the EarWell system that reshapes the cartilage in Jackson's ears. While not immediately noticeable, Jackson was born with somewhat strangely shaped ears.  We weren't worried about it, but our pediatrician offered this procedure and after discussing it we decided to go ahead.  So for the next 6 weeks, he will be wearing molds to reshape his ears.

During the procedure, he fussed no worse than when we change his clothes and went to sleep a few minutes after it was done.  There is no surgery or cutting and so far he doesn't even seem to notice they are there. The procedure is covered by our insurance, so cost is not an issue.  All we have to lose is a few weeks of adorable photos.

  1. Poor little guy, that is a bummer, sounds better than doing plastic surgery in the future though...
